Bonnie Lambert Is an expressionist oil painter. She studied at the Art Center School of Design in Pasadena. Since 2009 she has attended many museums and workshops In which she promoted her work and became known for. Before becoming an artist, she was a professional stage actress for many years. She claims to have always felt electrified when she would act in front of a live audience. That feeling is what inspired her to do her type of artwork. Bonnie Lambert’s artwork revolves around California rush hour traffic, quiet neighborhoods, power lines, telephone poles, palm trees, and cars. The intense colors resembles the feelings she had when she was an actress. For her, the white canvas is the theater, the intense colors are the emotional stage lighting, and the actors are the vibrant palettes which are being brush-stroked on the canvas. It consists of intense bright colors, deep contrast, and expressive familiar urban scenes.
Bonnie Lambert is a very reserved artist. She does not talk about her private life. The only thing we do know is what history she had that inspired her to make this form of art. Her art is her business. She lives off of what she loves to do. Each painting ranges from $80 to $2,000. She has received many awards from La Gallerie Gitana in San Francisco and the Chico Art center in which she won first prize. Some museums that features her art is the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum, Forest Lawn Museum, Pasadena Museum of History, and Latino Museum of art.
The first oil painting that she ever made is called the Artsy Shark. It depicts a staggered neighborhood, traffic, motorcycles, palm trees, and the lines. From her travels, this is how she depicts the Southern California urban culture
